About Us
We grew up together, homeschooled, along with our other two siblings, on a rural homestead in Missouri. It was a gift; free from the hustle and bustle of the system, we were allowed to slow down and savor all the little moments of life.
We spent countless hours feeding our playful and creative sides, laying in the grass or the snow on the big hill and watching clouds go by.
Even when life got rough, there was always beauty to be found: from a glowing pastel sunset, to the rainbow inside a pristine soap bubble, to the wind rattling through the silvery cottonwoods.
Spending so much time outside fed our imaginations. We learned how to find creative refuge by building our own vibrant worlds.
As adults, we’ve grown in responsibility, but we never lost that little spark of wonder. Whenever hard times come to knock us down, art is always there to pick us back up. It gives us the freedom to slow down, and the ability to see the world with fresh eyes.
Both us agree that our favorite subjects are people, and the moving moments they share. It’s incredible that something as simple as paint can be used as a mirror to reflect and highlight the love between two people in a kiss, the fun of a family dancing together, or even to give us a peek at the original and beautiful soul in a person’s eyes.
About Jessica

I fell in love with art when I realized I could draw the world however I wanted it to be. In high school, my perfectionist nature and hard work earned me 1st and 2nd place in several national ORU art competitions (first place in oil painting and pen and ink; second place in linoleum carving and on-site art).
My love for animals, science, and the outdoors drew me toward a career doing fish studies on the Missouri River. I was able to use some of my art skills at work, making logos and designing t-shirts for the Missouri River Rats.
After a home birth with my son, I left the river to become a stay-at-home mom, the most rewarding and challenging job of my life. I had two more children at home, both daughters. Since then, my husband and I opened our homes and hearts to include a menagerie of pets (including a bearded dragon, lots of cats, hairless rats, a ball python, a turtle, a tarantula, and of course the dog, Pluto), a homecare for my fellow river rat’s three children, and a multitude of visiting neighbor kids.
As if that wasn’t enough, I opened a 5-star pottery business and crochet hat shop, where I was able to find a little corner of artistic enrichment in all the hustle and bustle of daily chores and family management.
But when I heard about wedding painting, I knew I’d found my dream job – and there was one person I knew I wanted to share this opportunity with. The beautiful person who had been by my side through all the highs and lows; she supported me when my children where born, she comforted me when I was crying, and she joined in the laughs with me during every family celebration.
My little sister is my hero and I’d do anything for her.
I love my sister!
About Sarah

I left high school early to attend college at 15, earning a bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing. This landed me… ordinary office work at the University of Missouri! But I could never stop writing, drawing, and painting.
All of my free time was dedicated to artistic pursuits. I helped illustrate books, created webcomics, blogged art and poetry, and fulfilled art commissions.
When Jessica asked me to join her in a wedding painter business, I said yes, without hesitation!
Ten years of front-facing office work were not in vain. They honed my admin and customer service skills, and I am so pleased to be able to orient these skills toward a family business.
I’m excited to be working with my sister! She makes everything fun. It’s easy to put all of my heart and soul into work when it directly benefits my family. And I’m thrilled to have discovered a meaningful career which can make people happy.
I love what I learn from drawing something or somebody. It makes me look at things in a new light, and see things I would never otherwise have seen.
I love the challenges of art, how it forces me out of my comfort zones. I love that I’m never done learning.
I love my sister!
